How many galaxies have humans discovered?

“We don’t know,” says Ed Churchwell, professor of astronomy. “We know it’s a very large number.”

It’s in the hundreds of billions, Churchwell says. In contrast, there are but 4 billion stars in our own galaxy, the Milky Way — and the number will keep growing for some time before we run out of galaxies to count.

“You look at that and say, ‘How many galaxies can I see?’” Churchwell explains. “And that turns out to be a very large number.”

Team India - men in blue become red-faced

The Men in Blue never looked in pink of health. But who would have foreseen MS Dhoni and company ending up red-faced so early.  The narrow three run loss against England will rankle in the heart for a some time and its time to move on. Simply put, India wasn’t up to the challenge. This happens everytime, and we never learn from our mistakes.

Where did we go wrong? Our bowling lacked passion and class. Our top order’s weakness against the short-pitched ball was exposed. There were strategic blunders too, like batting order management, for which the Dhoni-Kirsten thinktank must take the flak. But, where did we actually go wrong? Is it IPL? No no Kiran More was superb in entertaining the masses with his idea of IPL. He just wanted to entertain people with too many matches just before the prestigious ICC Wolrd cup and the players got tired and couldn’t perform. It is their mistake. Who asked them to play so hard at the IPL. Oh yes.. the BCCI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, who took a strategic decision of allowing a massive and big tournament, which doesn’t have any value as far as the country is concerned, to take place just before the world cup. And wow what a decision it was.

We should make a choice, silly tournaments like IPL, ICL where we waste all our players’ or tournaments for national pride like ICC World cup.

This has been the case for a long time now, Indian team wins some matches, they build temples for the players and the next they loose, we burn posters, make protests. Are we idiots? are these sponsers and BCCI making fool out us? We should think.

Why we limit our thinking and anger only to players, who are just players in the hands of Kiran more and the BCCI? Are we giving too much hype for these players who might not be worth it. Or, there is too much high level corruption that couldn’t select a proper team which could perform.  And, politicians go away from cricket.
